Misano Circuit

Misano World Circuit (officially known as the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, and before 2006 the Circuito Internazionale Santa Monica), also known as the Marco Simoncelli Circuit, is a racetrack located near Misano Adriatico. Originally designed in 1969 with a length of 3,488 km, it hosted its first race in 1972. In 1993 the track was extended to 4,064 km. Since 2007, this circuit has become the Grand Prix winner as part of the MotoGP World Championship calendar. In 2012, the track was renamed in honor of the local motorcycle racer Marco Simoncelli, who died in 2011.
