Poznan circuit is the largest circuit in Poland and is reasonably fast. It was built between 1975 and '77 after the decision to transfer land on the outskirts of Ławica Airport (one of Poland's oldest airports) for racing use was taken. This step was prompted by the Automobile Club of Wielkopolska and the FSR 'Polmo' company - manufacturers of Tarpon cars, vans and off-road vehicles - who owned a nearby factory. The circuit was officially opened on December 1, 1977 and has since been a permanent addition to the Polish racing scene.
